Certification And Labelling

“The path to a market begins with a partner, for this you have “Eurasia Gateway”.

Description

An inherent feature of the development of the Russian market over the past few years has been the extension of the list of goods requiring mandatory certification, as well as the list of products for which mandatory labeling requirements are introduced. At the same time, when exporting goods to Russia, it is important to understand that your products may be subject to both the norms of the internal legislation of the Russian Federation and the norms of the Eurasian Economic Union trade law.

Although certification and labeling often fall under the importer’s responsibility rather than the exporter’s, in some cases, our clients are required to complete the necessary paperwork, prepare and/or apply labels to goods, as well as to host authorized inspections. We at Eurasia Gateway have the necessary competencies to ensure the specified requirements for your products and see our task as making the process of certification and labeling of products as clear and accessible as possible for exporters of products.

How do we work

* Depending on the client’s needs, the service delivery process can be adjusted. However, the fundamental principles of our work in certification and labeling advisory are based on the requirements of Russian and Eurasian Union legislation and involve the following actions:

1. Study of your products and contract with the importer/authorized representative.

In preparation for the certification or labeling processes, we need to obtain data regarding the characteristics of the product, including its composition, manufacturer, brand, etc., as well as information about the authorized representative of the exporter in Russia (if applicable).

2. Choosing a labeling option (if necessary)

If products are subject to product labeling requirements, it's important for entrepreneurs to understand that goods imported into the territory of Russia must be labeled before customs clearance. In this regard, several labeling options are traditionally used: at a specialized consolidation warehouse or at the production site. Eurasia Gateway specialists will advise on the benefits of each option and ensure that the client’s interests are protected at every stage of the process.

3. Import of product samples for testing purposes

In order to issue a certificate of compliance with mandatory requirements for products, certification bodies conduct tests of product samples or visits of authorized experts to production sites. Eurasia Gateway will provide professional assistance in submitting applications for testing and certification of products on behalf of the importer or authorized representative. Additionally, we are ready to offer services for accompanying inspection controls to ensure the protection of client interests at all stages of product certification.

4. Monitoring the results of service provision

Due to regular changes in Russian legislation regarding product certification and labeling, and considering the involvement of numerous participants in processes of certification and labelling, Eurasia Gateway sees its task as continuously monitoring the quality of service provision to our clients. This involves constant monitoring of the results of service execution, including the verification of received documents such as certificates of compliance, labeling codes, and others.
